At VBI, we have a service to fit whatever style of worship is meaningful to you. Our Friday night service at 7:30 P.M. is conducted in both Hebrew and English with guitar accompaniment.
Although our evening service follows a traditional Conservative structure, those who look for a service that has more English, more creativity, and more fun will find our Friday night service enjoyable, meaningful, and uplifting.
For those who prefer a more traditional service, we offer traditional Shabbat and Festival services in Hebrew. Congregants are encouraged to participate in the discussion of the weekly Torah portion. All Shabbat, Festival, and Daily services follow traditional, Conservative guidelines and do not include musical accompaniment or other creative aspects.
If you would like a daily worship experience or need a place to say Kaddish for a loved one who has recently passed away, our Daily Minyan service is here to meet your needs.
High Holiday services include aspects of both traditional and non-traditional services. The morning services up to Musaf are conducted in Hebrew exclusively without musical accompaniment. All evening services and morning services, beginning at Musaf, include English readings and piano accompaniment (except Yom Kippur).
All holiday services (Purim, Tisha B'av, Simchat Torah, Channukah) are observed in the spirit of the day with appropriate costumes, noisemakers, skits, food, songs, and liturgy.
